5 gallon birch leave churn
Question:
I have a butter churn that has the number 5 on it with the birch leaves below. There is also the ski oval that says Red Wing on the first line with a scroll below it. The second line has Union Stoneware with Co. below it. On the next line is Red Wing, Minn. An elderly gentleman gave it to me about 17 years ago. He said it was his mothers. I cannot find any information on one like it. Please let me know the value of it. I am sending pictures also.

Stone Mason Fruit Jars
Question:
I have recently purchased my second mason jar crock. There are a few differences between them. Height, color of glaze, color of clay, and the way they are stamped on the bottom. Does this mean one is a reproduction or just different time periods of production. Thank you for all the help over the years with our collection questions.

Spongeware Pitcher
Question:
Just picked up this spoutless pitcher at an estate sale in Florida. It was tagged as Red Wing. Any information would be appreciated. It is creamy yellow in color with rust and blue sponging, and three rust bands. Measures about 8 inches tall, and looks like it would hold about a gallon of liquid. No chips or cracks. The foot ring does have some small nicks. There a few spots where the glaze is thin or missing. No markings. Thank you.

Minnesota Stoneware 3 Gallon Churn
Question:
I want to get info on the buttern churn I own. My parents handed me this churn several years ago. It’s in mint condition, a little over 14" tall & about 10" wide, has a blue-colored 3 on the side, 2 blue leaves under the 3, and a blue oval circle under that with the words, "UNION STONEWARE CO. RED WING, MINN. The outside & inside of the churn is a very smooth surface and a grayish color. The bottom is stamped with the words, "MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO. RED WING." I also have the wooden lid and the wooden "masher." The masher has a wooden circular piece at the bottom with 6 holes in it. There’s also a small wood dome nailed to the handle above that. The handle and the 2 pieces are in great shape, but look very old. I don’t have a pic but can get one if needed. Please let me know what I have. Thank you! -Eric

Crock Repair
Question:
I was at an antique shop in southern Minnesota and discovered that this crock had a hairline crack all the way down the side of it. The owner of the shop felt so bad that he was asking $100 for it that he just gave it to me! He also told me that it could be fixed by heating the crock up in an oven and apply glue to the back side of the crack. The glue would seep into the crack. Would you advise doing this? What is the mark called? What would the value of it be before and after if i were to fix it? Oh, by the way, the bottom is marked "Minnesota Stoneware Co. Red Wing". Thanks.

Red Wing Greek Bowls, 6, 7 & 8
Question:
I bought this set at an antique shop that apparently didn’t realize that it was Red Wing. I don’t know how that could be since we live in Minnesota. The bowls are No. 6, 7 & 8. What are the values of each? I have yet to locate another No. 7. Thank you.

10, 8 5, 3 gallon crocks
Question:
We have a set (10,8,5,3 gal) of Red Wing Crocks (possibly for pickles), that we purchased from an antique store about 20 years ago, and would like to get a possible value of the set. The largest is a 10 gallon. It has handles, a 2" Wing and Blue Company Emblem that states Union Stoneware Co., RedWing.Minn. It also has a marking of a Patented Dec 21, 1915 date on the side. Next is the 8 gallon, no handles, 6" Wing, and same Company emblem. Next is the 5 gal, with handles and a 4" wing, Company emblem and this also has the Patented Dec 21, 1915 date on the side. Last is the 3 gallon, no handles, 4" Wing, and same Company emblem. They are all in very good condition, although the 10 gall is cracked on the bottom. So what do you think? Thank you in advance.
