Red Wing 3 Gallon Churn with original wood lid
Question:
I have a 3 Gallon Red Wing Butter Churn that has the original WOOD lid. If you look in the price list of churn lids on page 57 of the "Red Wing Potters & Their Wares" Second Edition by Gary and Bonnie Tefft you will see that Red Wing did offer WOOD churn lids and dashers. The price list came from the Minnesota Historical Society and is listed as an 1895 MSCo advertisement. They were priced at $1.00 and $1.50 respectively. My churn was purchased from an old farmer in upper Wisconsin that had bought both directly from the Red Wing Pottery. If you would like to see a picture of the cover I would be glad to send you as many as you like. I am sending a picture of the page I mentioned.

20 Gallon Red Wing Crock
Question:
My crock was purchased in 1974(?) in the Dakotas. The wooden and metal handles appear to be original. Condition is good, shiny glaze. Markings are as follows, tho the numbers/letters are difficult to read and may not be totally accurate. It has the number 20 in large blue type and the red wing logo beneath that. Under that, within a oval is Red Wing, JN104(?), Stoneware Co., Red Wing Wis. Near one of the handles is: Patented December 21, 1915. I am interested in selling this piece but need to know as much about it as possible and it’s possible value. Thank you very much. Bobbi

Advertising Bowl, It Pays to Mix with Anderson Hardware
Question:
Is a North Wind bowl Red Wing? We recently purchaced an advertising 7" bowl identified as a Redwing North Wind bowl by the seller. The advertising is "IT PAYS TO MIX WITH ANDERSON HARDWARE"printed in brown with a circle around the advertising. It is ivory in color and the glaze looks like Red Wing. It is decorated with old wood sailing ship with a flag flying above the sail alternating with with a face in a cloud portraying blowing. The pattern is displayed 4 times around the bowl. There is a number 300 on the bottom. I don’t own a digital camera so I can’t take a quick picture for you. I can bring the bowl to convention.
