Red Wing #899
Question:
I have a piece of pottery that has an impression on the underside that reads: RED WING 899 It is green inside and out with a smooth glaze (excluding the bottom) and is only about 4.25" tall x 4" wide. I have looked on the internet a bit, but never seen it pictured or described. I found it at an estate sale about 20 years ago or so. I have never seen anything descibed that small. Could it really be Red Wing or do you suspect it is something else? Thank you Teresa.

4 Gallon Salt Glaze Crock

THIS CROCK IS NOT MARKED, HOWEVER, I CAN TELL FROM THE STYLE OF THE "4" MARKING THAT IT IS INDEED RED WING (NOT TO MENTION THE COBALT BLUE). I HAVE BOUGHT AND SOLD MANY CROCKS BUT HAVE YET TO COME ACROSS ONE LIKE THIS. PLEASE TELL ME ANYTHING YOU MAY KNOW ABOUT THIS CROCK. Thank you Jason
