Question:
Hello, I have a 20 gal Red Wing crock in great condition. We live in Wisconsin and my husband insists on keeping this outside on the front porch. I say the crock needs to be displayed in the house to protect it from the elements and possible thieves. Where is the best place to keep this type of piece, in the house or outside? Thank you.

question from: tlpryor@live.com
Question:I’m just getting started with researching pottery and I don’t know much about it. Can you tell the date of production and your opinion of the value of this Western Stoneware Co. piece? It is 13 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide at the base. I think it might be missing a top piece? There are two indentions on the sides near the top where it looks like it had a snap lid. I did find where Western Stoneware Co is no longer in business, but that is about all I know. Any other information you can furnish would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Teri

5 lb pantry jar with Red Wing
Question:
I found a 5 lb. pantry jar with the original lid,it has a small red wing about(2) inch on it and two blue bands on top and bottom. The lid has 2 bands on the outer edge then 1 band up toward the center then 2 more bands in the center. It has a bar in the center. It also has a petal design around the bar. There are no cracks, chips or repair done to this piece. Color is good, the blue is sharp and the red wing is clear and sharp. When was this made and what is the value of this piece? 10/20 gallon salt glaz crock – emailed for photo
Question:
I have a crock that I think is Red Wing. It is 17 1/2" tall and 12 1/4" diameter. I think that it is salt glazed. It is light brown on the outside with blue markings. It is dark brown on the inside. It has ear like handles. The blue markings look like a lollypop and the number looks like 10 or 20. It is in good condition. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Lyle Cooper
Oomph Bakeware casserole
Question:
I have what looks like a small covered crock casserole that is oval in shape…it is brown with a turquoise color on the lip of the dish, inside the dish and the inside of the lid. It is marked redwing on the bottom. I would like to sell this but need a ‘rough’ idea of what it’s worth. It is not in perfect condition…has two small chips inside the edge of the lid (can’t be seen from the outside) and a hairline crack on the inside of the dish part on the side. It measures 10" from the outside edge of the lip of the dish to the outside of the other side…the bottom of the dish is 7 x 5.5" and the depth is 3.5" measured on the outside. I bought this at an antique store years ago because I just liked the size, shape and colors. My camera is ‘misplaced’ at this time (grandkids!) or I would try to send a picture. Thank you for your time. Janet
