Blue art pottery bottle shape

Question:
HI, Any chance this art pottery bottle is red wing? I’m at my wits end trying to figure this out. It’s about 5" at the widest point by about 9" tall. There is a mark on the bottom of a shield with maybe a bird(?) in the center of it. I will submit a second photo of that mark. Thanks so much, Richie

Answer: Hi Richie

it’s not a Red Wing shape, send me a pic of the bottom. thanks, steve n rose

Question:
I bought a vase today at a church sale for .25. It is 11 inches tall, pink on the inside, blue/grey on the outside, on the bottom it says Redwing USA and I believe the number is 1370. On the outside of the vase are are 4 leaves in relief that start at the top of the base and go up 6 inches. They are apx. 2 inches wide and look somewhat like a burr oak leaf. The vase also has ornate handles on the sides. Any idea information on this piece would be appreciated. Thanks, Tammi Poppe

Answer: Hi Tammi

Red WIng M-1453, Charles Murphy designer

Question:
I just bought a piece of pottery at an antique store and it says Red Wing USA M1453 on the bottom. The antique store said it was a Banana Leaf tray made in 1954. It has a green top and yellow underside with raised leaf veins. It appears to have no flaws although I am suspicious of on area on the edge that might have been smoothed although looking at it you wouldn’t know unless you rubbed your finger over it. I paid 46.28 with tax and it goes very well with my decor but I am wondering if the price was accurate and if there are other pieces out there that I might look for. Thank-you Barb Gerlach

Answer: Hi Barb

some Red Wing has some minor flaws. the date is correct, from 1954, a design by Charles Murphy. The price seems to be about right. There are a couple other similiar shapes, M1445, and M1446, both bowls as well. I think the glaze color is woodland green. happy hunting, thanks, steve n rose

5 gallon Water Cooler

Question:
Our church has a 5 gallon Red Wing water cooler with what appears to be the original lid. The lid has a "chip" on the edge about the size of a quarter. There are no other cracks. Both handles are fine. A date has been painted on the front of it. We are in need of funds to build a new community building and would be interested in sell this water cooler. Could you give us an idea of how much it is worth? And the best way to "advertise" it for sale? Thanks Dorothy
