Bob White metal stands and napkins

Question:
I heard one time about someone who knew of the metal stands being made to fit Bob White Dinnerware. Things like the Lazy Susan, Cruet and Casserole stands. Of course they are knockoffs but is this true? Also, there was someone who made embroidered napkins for some Red Wing Dinnerware patterns, is there a contact for this person. Lastly, I was told of cookie jar lids that were also knockoffs for the Bob White cookie jar, if this is true do you have a contact? Thank you! Don

Red Wing 917 Lion Planter

Question:
I really wish I could attach a photo to this question, but my smartphone is not "smart" enough to do it. So I will describe as best I can. I have a planter or jardinaire in the shape of a lion that is laying down, head up. It has an almost "sphyinx" like face to it. Painted in lightbbrwons and tans. The detail on the main and tail are very shaggy. The bottom stamped with Red Wing USA 917. The it also is marked (like someone inscribed it) with JM 1976. Did Red Wing do greenware for pottery classes or is this a legitimate product that Red Wing sold? I’ve searched and searched and am completely flummoxed! Help me Red Wing experts! Thank you in advance, Stephanie

Answer: Hi Stephanie

Red Wing did produce a lion planter, which dates to around 1965. It is the correct number, but this one was done by someone else. when the factory closed, some molds were sold to other companies, and we call these items "hobby shop". with the name and date, I’m certain it wasn’t made by red wing. the factory closed in 1967. the original is worth a few hundred dollars, yours maybe 75.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing Bird Bath

Question:
what is a red wing bird bath produced in the 1940′s worth (in good condition) Grace

Answer: Hi Grace

I don’t know of any birdbaths produced that late, most were from the brushedware line, circa 1930. Those sell for around 1000.00 or so. They have a matt glaze, usually brown or green, and most have a metal "stem" which runs thru both pieces of the birdbath. thanks, steve n rose
