Provincial Bakeware bean pot – “Kissing Don’t Last, Cookin’ Do”

Question:
Hello! I have a question regarding a bean pot I picked up at a thrift store. It is close to mint condition, but does have a bit of paint wear on one handle. My bean pot looks similar to that of the provincial line # 405. However, mine is shape # 402 (it seems a bit more bulbous in shape than that of the 405, other than that they are the same, having a lid that is not inset and handles). The reason I am asking, is that I cannot find the shape number of my pot anywhere, and mine was (my assumption) glazed by someone other than red wing. It has the saying "Kissin Don’t Last, Cookin’ Do" on the front with a kissing couple in between the phrase. This person signed there name with 1978 afterwards and it is under the glaze. Did Red Wing give away "blanks" for other people to paint or glaze on there own when they closed their doors? Thank you for any information you may have on this. I dont expect its worth much as most of the provincial bean pots arent. I am just curious as to where this pot came from and why the shape number is different from others, Thank you again! Kayle

Lute Song platter

Question:
I have a Red Wing platter in the Lute Song pattern. I am concerned that it might be a copy or fake. The marking does not have the red wing and it has the word "CHINA" embossed into the pottery. I don’t know if this means it’s a reproduction made in China or if somehow the factory marked this is china. Since I can only send 1 picture, I’m sending the picture of the marking. Karen

Driftwood Casserole with cover

Question:
Years ago my mother and father gave my grandma a red wing bowl for taking care of us girls while they went on vacation. My mother died in 1963 so the bowl was given to my grandma more than likely before 1960. I was born in 1957. When my grandma passed away, my aunt gave me the bowl. I have been trying to find out information on the bowl and Red Wing. I have a couple pictures of it so you can see what it looks like. on the bottom of it there is no number, just Red Wing USA If you could tell me more about the bowl–did it come with a dinner set or what. I think it is a very beautiful bowl and it is in perfect condition. I have taken several pictures of it so you get a good idea of it. Martha
