Question:
My friend would like to sell her 1947 collection of Dinnerware by Red Wing. Any idea on what she could/should ask for the set? Sarah

Answer: Town & Country dinnerware was introduced in 1947. Some collectors believe it was made for only one year, but Red Wing brochures and dealer price lists prove the pattern was available until 1956. The small photo posted here does not provide sufficient detail to positively identify some of the items. Without knowing the size, color, condition and quantity of the pieces I can provide only a rough estimate of value. If sold as a single lot the value would probably be in the range of $200-400 if most pieces are in "average" condition. The value could be significantly lower if most pieces are damaged. Collectors often seek certain individual pieces to fill out their collections, so selling these items individually or in small groups would likely attract more interest than selling them as one large lot.
