Question:
Hello! I found this large bowl at an estate auction. Is it Redwing? Oomph? Village Green? Dimensions: 12 inches in diameter, approximately 4 1/2 inches tall. Green inside, brown out. No marking on the bottom. Thanks, Elaine

Answer: After evaluating several factors about this bowl, I do not believe it was made by Red Wing. The photo posted here shows the interior of the bowl; a photo of the exterior is needed to confirm my opinion. Bakeware (aka Oomph) and Village Green were the two Red Wing patterns with green interiors and brown exteriors. Bakeware mixing bowls were made in 6", 8" and 10" sizes; to my knowledge no 12" bowl was made. Village Green salad bowls were available in a 12" size but had vertical sides and wide flat bottoms. Finally, the photo shows a circular depression in the base of the bowl’s interior. Neither Bakeware nor Village Green bowls have this depression. Thus it would appear this bowl was made by a company other than Red Wing.
