Question:
I have a partial set of Red Wing Round Up Pattern which includes 2 platters (13 1/4×9)(232/349),4 dinner plates (11") (all 241), 4 medium plates (8")(232,232,239,432), 5 small plates (6 1/2")(231,211,241,23?,220), 4 mugs (1 has small crack), and 1 pitcher. As you will see from the photos, all pieces are in mint condition. I am interested in selling this set so am looking for value. I will provide additional photos if required. Thank you Jackie

Answer: The small photo posted here does not allow me to see fine details, thus I am unable to assess the condition of these items. The small pitcher is actually a creamer. Standard coffee cups and larger coffee mugs were both available in Round Up. The items in this photo are Round Up cups, not mugs, and cups are much more common than mugs. The three-digit number found on the bottom of the plates is not significant; it is merely a stock or lot number.

Round Up is very popular with collectors and is among the more valuable patterns of Red Wing dinnerware. That said, there seems to be a rather wide range in actual selling prices for internet and live auctions. The values below reflect recent selling prices. All values assume excellent condition.

13" Platter: $50-100

10.5" Dinner plate: $50-100

7.5" Salad plate: $20-40

6.5" Bread & Butter plate: $20-40

Coffee cup: $10-20

Creamer: $25-50
