Question:
I have three pieces of Red Wing (1) a butter dish with cover spongeware that says butter on it. (2) flour canister with cover grey with blue strip and #2 gallon in mint conduction, never used. These belonged to my grand grandmother. Looking to sell, if you could put me in touch with someone who may be interested in buying, I would appreciate it. Thank you Marilynn

Salt Crock
Question:
Hi I recently came across a salt crock without its lid at an estate auction. There is no marking on the bottom of the crock but it looks like someone wrote on the bottom (small letters) circa 1870-1890. I am not sure if it is Red Wing or what it is. It seems to be in very good condition for its age. It could use a cleaning but I didn\’t want to do that in the case I wasn\’t supposed to. If you could help me out on the history and worth of this piece I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks-Molly

Just wondering what the worth would be for a 20-gallon salt-glazed butterfly in 9/10 condition. Also, what would be the worth of the same crock that has a hairline going through the crock top to bottom?

Spittoon
Question:
I have a spittoon which looks exactly like the one in Warmans 2005 Redwing Pottery ID & Price guide. Page 50 It looks like the brown one on the left. 4 3/4 hi 7 1/2 across top. The glaze looks like its poured on not brushed on.Its a very dark chocolate brown with slight variarions. There is one spot that looks like finger prints from whoever held it while glazing. There is a #8 embossed on the bottom, not indented but standing out. Is it a Northstar spittoon? Can you tell from my description. The book lists it at $150+? Thanks, Laurie

Red Wing Price Book
Question:
I have recently found a Red Wing Cookbook in some old books I aquired. The title is: Home Packing Preserving The Red Wing Way Meats, Eggs, Vegetables, Fruits The book is pamphlet style, about 6" by 81/2" and has red wings stamped around the border. The back has the same red wing border and advertizes "Something to hold on to—-Handles—a unique convenience on The Red Wing Line. There is no date anywhere on the book. The price was 35c. It says: Issued by: America’s Greatest Stoneware Potteries Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minnesota The book has grunge marks along the edge from use, but is in original condition-no tears or missing pages. It is a neat little book! My question is: When was this published and about how much would it be worth? I have not included a picture. Thank you so much for any information you have. Jean Parker
