Question:
I have recently found a Red Wing Cookbook in some old books I aquired. The title is: Home Packing Preserving The Red Wing Way Meats, Eggs, Vegetables, Fruits The book is pamphlet style, about 6" by 81/2" and has red wings stamped around the border. The back has the same red wing border and advertizes "Something to hold on to—-Handles—a unique convenience on The Red Wing Line. There is no date anywhere on the book. The price was 35c. It says: Issued by: America’s Greatest Stoneware Potteries Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minnesota The book has grunge marks along the edge from use, but is in original condition-no tears or missing pages. It is a neat little book! My question is: When was this published and about how much would it be worth? I have not included a picture. Thank you so much for any information you have. Jean Parker

Answer: Jean, the date I have on your Red Wing "Home Packing Preserving" catalog is 1912 – 1936. Therefore, the catalog was in production in this time frame. I have seen a number of reproductions of this catalog. I would place a value on your original anywhere from $75 to $125. Al Kohlman
