Hello. I bought this yesterday on eBay. The seller said it may be Red Wing. I’ve never heard of Red Wing before yesterday, and I’m just curious about it. The advertising is for my great-grandfather’s dairy, so the personal value won’t change. There are chips around the top and the lid is missing. The picture of the bottom didn’t have any Red Wing markings, which is why the seller wasn’t sure about it. Question:
I have a lid with a five point star around the handle and was told it was Red Wing. There are no markings. The outside diameter measures 9 1/2 inches. It has an inside lip that measures 7 inches. The outside seems to be glazed but the inside isn’t. I would just like to know if this was a lid made by Red Wing. If it was, could you tell me the approximate age? Thank you.

In visiting your site I see where the Albany slip Cow & Calf sold for $8400 at the 2007 auction. Why did that particular piece reach that price when we’ve seen other similar pieces sell for in the $300 – $800 range, of course depending on condition.
