Question:
I recently purchased this item at an auction. It is a 10 gallon salt glazed crock. It has no cracks chips or defects except maybe the stain on the bottom. It has two rings around the top just above the 10. I believe the marking is a lazy 8 target is this right? I can’t pin point the value in the book I have. What is this piece worth and do the two grooves above the 10 mean anything.

Stoneware signage
Question:
Hello, I recently came across a framed chart of Red Wing Stoneware. It is approx. 23 3/4" tall and 15" wide. Says "Red Wing Stoneware and stoneware specialties" on top and "Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minnesota" on bottom. It has well over 100 pieces of different stoneware items. Everything from a christmas tree stand, jardiniers, coffee urn liners, pitchers, water coolers, self draining jars, koverware, spitoons, ewers and basins, and many more. Some I did not even know were made by red wing. Under each piece it has a figure #, name, a little info, and the sizes available. It is framed and there is a sticker on the front that say’s circa, 1931. It is on yellowed heavy paper stock and I see no dates. Just wondering if this is real or a reproduction, and if it was for a store display or salesman piece. If it is original can you give me a approx. value. Thank you so much for your time. Love your website. Thanks Dale.

3 Gallon, MN Stoneware birch leaf beehive jug
Question:
Hi, I am wondering if you have some idea what this jug may be worth. It is part of my father’s estate. It has a blue 3 near the top, and the oval label, which is almost 2.5 inches wide, reads: UNION STONEWARE CO. RED WING, MINN. There are two half-inch wide chips, one on the handle and one on the lip of the spout. Also, there are noticeable paint or glaze drippings running down the jug from the back starting at the handle and going around the left side to within a few inches of the blue leaves on the front. The bottom has no markings or designs, nor any glaze or paint. The jug is about 13.5“ high. Thank you. Mike

20 Gallon Red Wing Crock
Question:
Hi – I have a 20 gallon piece of Red Wing stoneware. I don’t have a picture, but will do my best to describe it. It is almost 21 inches high and about 19 inches across. It has a blue number 20 on it with the wing print beneath it, which is a rust/red color. Also, the oval manufacturer mark (from what I can tell from your information page) looks like the one that states it was made in the 1930′s. It has the original wood lid and the handles which are all in perfect shape. The piece itself is in great shape….no cracks, etc. I was just wondering about its worth/collectibility. Thank you so much – Theresa Morrow
