Question:
Hello, I have collected for years. This 3 gallon salt glaze is a recent find and the first side stamped jug I’ve found. The cobalt 3 on the front is not the most striking I’ve seen,but it’s there. Also,the jug is molded.I haven’t seen that in a salt glaze either. On the back,the letter D is stamped twice. What company does that stand for? My book says stamping doubles the value but it doesn’t explain the meaning of the various company letters. Is this molded 3 gallon a Red Wing? And what value does it have? I have a Red Wing stoneware pitcher, with the advertisement: "Sunderberg Bros. Groceries and Meats Phone 1000" It is a beige/taupe color, with a two blue lines, and gold painted design in the center. The handle section has been reglued, and I just noticed a new crack in the back, which does not run all the way through. Is this piece of any value, or rarity?
