Red Wing Water Coller oozing sticky reddish substance
Question:
My water cooler has been stored in a clean spot in the basement for over 10 yrs until this past Labor Day when I filled it with water and ice. About 2 hrs or so later, the outside was oozing a sticky, reddish substance up to the water line inside. It sort of looked like the stoneware was sweating! The inside remained clean. I washed the stoneware’s exterior but after a few hours, it appeared again. This cycle repeats even though it has been a couple of days. Ever seen or heard of this happening before? What is it and what do I do about it? So unappealing it renders the crock unusable. Thank you. Bethany

P.R. Fell Crockery Advertising
Question:
I have a crock with a stamp from P.R. Fell Crockery and glassware and address 84 commons st. N.O. It is stamped 1 & 1/2 Gal.? I have also found an old ad from a New Orleans newspaper, advertising the Fell Co. My questions are: Did the Fell Co. make this crock to sell at their store in New Orleans, or is it an ad that was placed on a red-wing pot for Fell Co? Also, is the 1 and 1/2 gal rare? If possible, please identify the blue flowers on front? Age? Origination? Any info would be greatly appreciated. (will attach photos) Patty

Can you tell me anything about this item. Is there any value to this item. It is at least guessing 50 years old. I am unable to include a picture. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You! 8 gallon Red Wing Water Cooler, inside mark
Question:
I recently purchased an eight gallon red wing water cooler. I have seen some of these coolers with the 8 on the front above the water cooler emblem. Mine has the 8 on the inside bottom of the cooler. What is the difference? I would also like to know where I can find a spout for mine. I also noticed that mine does not have handles and some do. My cooler does not have a place where handles used to be. How old do you think this cooler is? It’s not in the best of shape but I think I got a good deal. Thanks Sherry

2 gallon birch leaf churn with lid

Can’t find any information about a 2 gallon salt glazed birch leaf butter churn with lid in mint condition. The oval in blue reads Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minn. It is 12.5" tall by 8" diameter with a 6 1/4" opening with the lid off. The lid does have some minor chipping on the underside that comes in contact with the churn. The lid is 6 3/4" in diameter with no markings. Thanks for any information you can provide. Ron
