Question:
My parents gave me a red wing pickle crock with handles in tact. It is patented in 1915 and has a number 8 on the front of it. It is in EXCELLENT shape and the glaze is in good shape. It has a date of December 21, 1915 on it. Jeff
Answer: Jeff, the date of December 21, 1915 is the date Red Wing used to patented the handles. Knowing this and the size of the wing along with the oval on your crock, we know that it was manufactured after 1915 and before 1930. The wing size looks to be 4 1/2 inches. In mint condition and cleaned up the value would be around $100 in todays ecomony. Al Kohlman
