We would like to know if this is Red Wing. It does not have any markings except the 6 and leaves. It has no oval. Did they all have ovals? It seems old, and has swirl marks on what I think is an unglazed bottom. My friend used to make saurkraut in it. Is it an imitation, or another company? i have i believe to be a red wing stoneware crock. it had belonged to my mother, i do not no how she became the owner of it either. my brother had told me it was for pickles however i just began doing some research on these because i have taking a liking to them. i use mine for holding a large plant on top of.. my question is simple, could anyone just give me some info on the crock i own ?? i have inclosed a picture. thank you for your time. again i think i am going to start a collection of these as i have been searching in local shops near my house, spotted a few but not like the one i have. HI, I picked up this 15 gallon crock at a yard sale the other day for what I thought was a reasonable price. I was wondering what an estimated value would be. It is in very nice shape, although it has a small hair line. I was wondering also about the style of the numbers. I have noticed that most crocks have an upturned 5. This one has a downturned 5. We have a beautiful huge salt glazed funnel with turkey tracks. We are wondering if it can be attributed to Red Wing. The bowl measures 12" in diam. x 9 in deep plus the nozzle is around 3 inches long, there is also a hefty handle on it. The inside is glazed brown. It is in near perfect condition with a couple bumps on the two tracks or droppings of brown glaze. This can all be seen in the photo. Your help is greatly appreciated. Kimberly
