Question:
I have a few questions to floow up about the 3 gallon fresh buttermilk cooler. You said they were a special order. Were they a one time order or available by request to REd Wing. If a one time order does anyone know who ordered them. The cooler is in excellent condition without any damage. The lid is damaged and the spigot is missing. What is it worth and is the spigot available. Thank you Dan

Answer: Dan, the Red Wing Fresh Buttermilk Coolers would have been a special order. I have no idea of how many were produced or who would have ordered them. The last one I seen sold in mint condition was $6000. That was for just the cooler not the lid. A button lid to fit this cooler in mint condition is valued around $800. You can find an original spigot either at the July convention in Red Wing, through the want ads in the Red Wing newsletter or sometimes on eBay. You will want an original spigot for this cooler. I would be stamped "Central" on the spigot. Original Spigots sell for around $50 each. With the ecomony being as down right now, the value of your cooler may be down as well. However, it is a rare cooler and if you sell it, I wish you the best of luck ever finding one again. So you decide on the price if you decide to sell it. Very nice piece! Al Kohlman
