Question:
HI, I picked up this 15 gallon crock at a yard sale the other day for what I thought was a reasonable price. I was wondering what an estimated value would be. It is in very nice shape, although it has a small hair line. I was wondering also about the style of the numbers. I have noticed that most crocks have an upturned 5. This one has a downturned 5. Is there any relevance to this. Thanks, Warren

Answer: Warren, the number 15, the oval on your crock and the 4 1/2 inch wing tells me that your crock was manufactured between 1917 & before 1930. From 1909 to around 1917 your would have found the upturned 5. With the hairline the value would be between $100 & $125. Al Kohlman
