Question:
i have i believe to be a red wing stoneware crock. it had belonged to my mother, i do not no how she became the owner of it either. my brother had told me it was for pickles however i just began doing some research on these because i have taking a liking to them. i use mine for holding a large plant on top of.. my question is simple, could anyone just give me some info on the crock i own ?? i have inclosed a picture. thank you for your time. again i think i am going to start a collection of these as i have been searching in local shops near my house, spotted a few but not like the one i have. Answer: Mary Ann, your mother’s 5 gallon salt glaze churn is not Red Wing and I don’t believe it is Western either. I could be from Ohio, but just can’t say for sure. Wish I could have been of further help. Al Kohlman
