20 Gallon Transition crock with double birch leaves

Question:
I purchased a 20 gallon Red Wing crock at a farm sale about 13 to 14 years ago. I don’t know a lot about Red Wing, but I loved this piece. It is in beautiful condition–the interior glaze is the same color as the exterior. The only "damage" is a small(about 1 inch) shallow chip along the interior rim. The birch leaf is bold and bright, as you can see from the picture, as is the "oval" identifying the manufacturer at the bottom. Can you tell me more about this crock and its possible value? Thank you!

4 Gallon Salt Glaze upturned leaf

Question:
I have a very nice 4 gallon Red Wing crock. I believe that it may be a rare piece as the leaf is incorrectly stamped. I am just wondering what the value is. There are a few very tiny flake like chips on the bottom and there is a hair line crack in the front of it. Otherwise there is the #4 and the leaf on the front. Any information would be wonderful.

Red Wing beater jar

Question:
Hi, I am not sure if this Blue Planter is Red Wing or not. Under the glazing on the bottom I can barely see some letters that I think are as follows REDW USA. The lettering is not in the center of the bottom but way to one side, so it looks like they just ran out of room when imprinting. Plus the glaze is so heavy that it has filled in the indentations of the letters. The measurements are 5 1/8" high x 5 1/2" outside dia. It is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or scratches. Could you please tell me if this is Red Wing and any info about when it was made and how much it might be worth? Thank you for your time. Bobbie

Answer: Hi Bobbie, this is actually considered stoneware, a beater jar, from the 30′s. Nice find, it has a value of around 140.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Ball Lock Jar

Question:
I found this piece and am not sure what it is but was assured it was red wing. The lidlettering (which is very difficult to read) says STONEWARE and what appears to be MINNESOTA- but it is very difficult to tell. There are some other letterings on the lid as well as just decorative lines. On the base of the crock are what appears to be S6 o2, or it could be S6 82. The crock itself stands 7 1/4" high and with the lid on it is 9" at the highest point. It measures 5.5" Wide. It has a clear glaze and one patched area on the lid edge appx. 1" x 2.5" that is well done but unglazed. There are some faint crackles within the glazing. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. Can you please advise as to what this is, appx age and value-Or, where I may find more information on it. Also, where I could sell it. I could proved more detailed pictures and closeups of the lid letterings if needed. Thanks much. Teresa Zanella

10 Gallon Ice Water with birch leaves

Question:
Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me a little about this stoneware cooler, and how much it might be worth? The piece is in great condition. It does have a small chip on the bottom edge, which is about an inch in length. There are a few small flakes around the bung as well. I have looked in all of my books, but can’t seem to find this piece in any. I noticed that you had another collector with a 10 gallon cooler on here, but theirs had the Red Wing 1st oval, and their "10" was stenciled a little differently. If you could help out at all I would appreciate it. Thanks.
