Question:
I was wondering if you could give me a value for this. It has a 6 inch long hairline behind one of the handles, has no other blemishes and has the original handles. It is stamped Redwing Union Stoneware Co. Is it supposed to have a cover? Thank you.

Crock Repair
Question:
I was at an antique shop in southern Minnesota and discovered that this crock had a hairline crack all the way down the side of it. The owner of the shop felt so bad that he was asking $100 for it that he just gave it to me! He also told me that it could be fixed by heating the crock up in an oven and apply glue to the back side of the crack. The glue would seep into the crack. Would you advise doing this? What is the mark called? What would the value of it be before and after if i were to fix it? Oh, by the way, the bottom is marked "Minnesota Stoneware Co. Red Wing". Thanks.

10, 8 5, 3 gallon crocks
Question:
We have a set (10,8,5,3 gal) of Red Wing Crocks (possibly for pickles), that we purchased from an antique store about 20 years ago, and would like to get a possible value of the set. The largest is a 10 gallon. It has handles, a 2" Wing and Blue Company Emblem that states Union Stoneware Co., RedWing.Minn. It also has a marking of a Patented Dec 21, 1915 date on the side. Next is the 8 gallon, no handles, 6" Wing, and same Company emblem. Next is the 5 gal, with handles and a 4" wing, Company emblem and this also has the Patented Dec 21, 1915 date on the side. Last is the 3 gallon, no handles, 4" Wing, and same Company emblem. They are all in very good condition, although the 10 gall is cracked on the bottom. So what do you think? Thank you in advance.

Red Wing Pickle Keg
Question:
Hello! I am looking to purchase a Reid Murdoch pickle keg at an auction next week. Unfortunatly the auction is far away so I have not had a chance to look at it in person. I was curious to find out: 1. What years were they made in? 2. Did they come in different sizes, and if so how much does the value change? 3. I have not seen any other picture of this keg besides the one on the website…. does this make them rare? 4. It is not listed as a Red Wing. The way I found out it was possibly a Red Wing was from this website. So my last question is, are all Reid Murdoch pickle kegs red wing, or will it say red wing on it? These are the only pictures I could find of the pickle keg on the auctions website. Hopefully you can help me! Thank you for your time!!!

Red Wing Mini Jug

During a recent construction project on the Ohio River banks at Louisville, KY we unearthed hundreds of stoneware items ten to fifteen feet beneath ground level. This area had been a major river port over two hundred years ago. Among the items was a miniature jug complete with handle. In an oval it is marked Red Wing (twice) and Union Stoneware Co. It is in excellent shape. It is approx. three inches tall and appears to be a souvenier size????? Thanks for any information you may be able to provide. Fred
