Question:
Hello! I am looking to purchase a Reid Murdoch pickle keg at an auction next week. Unfortunatly the auction is far away so I have not had a chance to look at it in person. I was curious to find out: 1. What years were they made in? 2. Did they come in different sizes, and if so how much does the value change? 3. I have not seen any other picture of this keg besides the one on the website…. does this make them rare? 4. It is not listed as a Red Wing. The way I found out it was possibly a Red Wing was from this website. So my last question is, are all Reid Murdoch pickle kegs red wing, or will it say red wing on it? These are the only pictures I could find of the pickle keg on the auctions website. Hopefully you can help me! Thank you for your time!!!

Answer: These Reid Murdoch pickle crocks were manufactured by Red Wing and are around. I have seen them sell for as little as $150 and as high as $250. Better be ready to bid on the higher end unless this is a small country auction. I have only seen them in one size. Good luck! Al Kohlman
