Question:
I bought a red wing crock about 30 years ago at a garage sale for $5.00. Color is gray and it is glazed. It has a large number 6 on it (which I assume is the number of gallons it holds). About mid-way down, it has "Ice Water" printed on it in blue . Then it has the large red "wing" under that. It sort of has the shape of a ginger jar. It also has a cork near the bottom for what I assume would be a spigot? I think it must have once had a matching cover but I don’t have that. Just wondering if it has any value? Gabriel

I was excited to find a few pieces of the "Lute Song" collection in a thrift store. A few pieces have the Red Wing stamp on the bottom but the others have no marking at all on the bottom. Here is what I have. I would like to know the value and also why some are marked on the bottom while others are not. I am including a picture
2 small bowls (1 has a chip) blue painted marking only
2 cups – blue painted marking only
1 sugar bowl with lid – blue painted marking only
1 larger bowl – brown painted marking only
1 platter – (has chip) Red Wing stamp on bottom
1 small plate – blue marking and Red Wing stamp on bottom
2 dinner plates – Red Wing stamp no painted marking
Thanks, Sabrina
Red Wing Ko-Rec Feeder with base & 5 gallon Red Wing water cooler
Question:
Hi, I’m looking for some hint of value and age on two items that we recently added to our collection. The first is a water cooler #5, no visible cracks or chips and it has the original spigot. The lid is also in perfect condition, no cracks or chips as well. There is a couple of smudges on the glaze. The second is a chicken feed. It too is also in perfect condition but has one little chip on the foot of the feed holder. Haven’t seen much on chicken feeds. Any information you can provide, is much appreciated! Rachel

Stoneware found on the Milwaukee Road railroad grade in Helena, MT
Question:
Hello from Helena Montana!! I was hiking on the old Milwaukee railrod grade and in a number of places, within a mile of each other, have found chunks of pottery or crock material. These are of a rusty red glaze, one inch thick. One of the chunks has a rim in it where a lid must have set. The red wing stamp is on another piece. (1) Do you think the railroad hauled large crocks in the early years? I have to let you know this really has me intrigued. (2) Did Red Wing ever produce material for water culverts for the railroad. Thanks so much for your time and interest in the history of Red Wing!! Greg Beveridge Helena, MT 406-202-3959

Concord shape after-market pitcher?
Question:
I recently found this pitcher and I immediately thought of Red Wing’s Lexington Rose shape. The handle (and obviously the pattern) is wrong, but I can’t help but think you might know who made this lovely pitcher! Thank you so very much for your help. I’m not usually stumped, but this one is! Alison

Question:
I have a piece of what appears to be a Red Wing pottery bowl. The bowl about 8" diameter, about 4′ high, reddish brown on the lower portion and a dull acqua color about an inch from the rim that is carried through on the inside of the bowl. The Red Wing name is on the bottom but is hard to make out. Can you tell me anything about this bowl. I’m sorry I do not have the ability to send a photo.
