Question:
I PURCHASED THIS POT AT A GARAGE SALE. LOOKS LIKE A ICE BUCKET TO ME. IT HAS THREE POINTED LEGS AND THE HANDLE IS METAL. IT IS ABOUT 8 INCHES IN DIAMATER. IT IS EMBOSSED REDWING USA ON THE BOTTOM. THE NAME ON THE BOTTOM IS ALSO GLAZED GREEN,THE SAME COLOR AS THE POT.THANKS JEAN

Answer: You have a bean pot from the Spruce pattern. It was available in two sizes, 2 quart and 4 quart. Your 8 inch pot is most likely the 2 quart size. Spruce was produced from 1955 to 1957. Today the pattern is scarce and thus quite difficult to find. The unusual shapes and space-age look of pieces from the Spruce pattern make them quite popular with collectors today. If it is excellent undamaged condition, the value of your bean pot would be in the range of $100-125.
