Flight DInnerware Pattern Bread Tray

Question:
I was given a platter type red wing piece…sort of strange looking. It is 23" in length and only 5" at the widest point. Cream colored with two flying ducks in black, rust and gray. Background of what maybe grasses they are flying over. States Red Wing/USA on the back. No other markings. Condition is excellent. I am moving to a smaller residence and need to sell or give this piece away. Can you tell me more about it, please. Thank you…

Montmartre dinner plate

Question:
I recently bought a Red Wing piece at an estate auction. It’s in perfect condition. It’s slightly oblong in shape. It measures 10.75" x 10" and the sides are slightly turned up on the long side. The back is stamped in the center. It says: RED WING (in an arch) HAND PAINTED OVENPROOF U.S.A. 429 I was unable to sign up as a member to the website because it said my name didn’t match the mailing name or something like that. Please also send your response to my e-mail address so I’m able to see it. Thank you so much! Melanie

Thank you follow up to Tampico Question

Question:
Hi Larry: I’m the one who submitted a question about the unmarked/stamped Tampico butter dish and was concerned it was a "reject." Red Wing’s marking process for dinnerware continued to confound me as there did not seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide an enlightening and in-depth explanation. Wow…I am really impressed! Going forward, I now feel more knowledgeable and confident about buying unmarked/stamped pieces to add to my budding collection. Unfortunately, I live in CT, where Red Wing is about as easy to find as an Eskimo. So have mercy on me! Thanks again for sharing your expertise! Best regards, Luanne

Red Wing Magnolia Dinnerware

Question:
I purchased a set of dishes at a yard sale that read: REDWING pottery handpainted #1102. The dishes are cream color with a magnolia type flower, with light green leaves and some brown accent by the flower. It consist of :

6 plates, bowls, cups, saucers, dessert bowls
3 serving bowls
large platter,
sugar and creamer
salt and pepper.

In brown color are:
coffer server
tea pot
gravey boat
a bowl with handle and lid
small serving dish with handle

Some of the handles are broken and I am interested in replacing those items. The rest of the set is in good condition. Can you tell me anything about these dishes. The couple that sold it are in their 80′s. The woman said she lent the dishes to her daughter and when they were returned the parts were damaged. thanks Elida

Village Green markings and lead content

Question:
Greetings, I recently inherited a lovely set of village green dish ware. As the story goes, my great-grand parents took my grandmother and her husband to Redwing to buy the set as a wedding gift.

There are no markings on the bottoms of the plates or any of the set, so I’m trying to date it and also know for certain that it is indeed Redwing. I would like to use the dish set but also have concerns about lead content.

My questions are two:

Can it be official Red wing pottery without any stamping?

Does any one know if they are safe to use, and lead free?

thank you for your time! Kathleen

Tampico Butter dish

Question:
Hi: When I first started collecting pieces of Red Wing dinnerware, I acquired a Tampico butter dish (top w/bottom) in great condition, but there are NO MARKINGS. I also collect Franciscan ware and learned that they did not mark/stamp items that did not pass inspection. Could it be that I acquired a reject, or did Red Wing not backstamp many of their smaller dinnerware pieces? Luanne
