Question:
I was given a platter type red wing piece…sort of strange looking. It is 23" in length and only 5" at the widest point. Cream colored with two flying ducks in black, rust and gray. Background of what maybe grasses they are flying over. States Red Wing/USA on the back. No other markings. Condition is excellent. I am moving to a smaller residence and need to sell or give this piece away. Can you tell me more about it, please. Thank you…

Answer: You have a bread tray from the Flight dinnerware pattern. Flight was introduced in 1962 and is among the more popular Red Wing patterns. Flight isn’t rare but it is scarce, and the bread tray is one of the more difficult pieces to find. It is tough to put a value on an item that seldom comes up for sale, but I would estimate a Flight bread tray in excellent, undamaged condition would be worth $150-250.
