Kermis plate
Question:
I was given a redwing plate. I believe it is a Kermis pattern. The plate is approx. 8" (square-ish)and has a court jester in black and light blue with tan pattern that circles the court jester. I was told this is a rare plate and may be valuable. There are no chips. What is the value of a piece like this? Dan

White bowl marked 971
Question:
Hello: I have a beautiful low bowl marked with the number 971 and the letter A, but nothing else. It was suggested to me it may be a Redwing piece, so I’m hoping someone can confirm or suggest my next move in this exploration. It measures 15" long, about 9.5" wide, and about 2.5" deep. It has a cream exterior and a baby blue interior, and I think a matte glaze that is smooth with a nice shine but not glossy. It has just a few use marks, and I think some crazing. I would certainly appreciate any feedback. Thank you. Betty King
Answer: Hi Betty
The number doesn’t match anything in my Red Wing books. I’m not sure what company made this bowl. wish I could be of mor help. thanks, steve n rose

Answer: Hi Sherry

question from: thetrain71@yahoo.com
Question:I just submitted a question and realized that I didn’t give a good description of the condition. The pitcher is in great shape. I couldn’t find any chips or cracks on it. The glaze is nice and shiny (sorry if that isn’t technical enough). I have attached a picture as a comparison.

New Red Wing Stoneare pitcher
Question:
Let me start by saying that I know next to nothing about pottery. I found a pitcher at a thrift shop and thought that it was of good quality so I bought it. It is about 10-11" tall and is blue and white with some sort of flower decoration on the side. The top rim is also blue. There is a fading makers mark on the bottom that is round and blue. It says Red Wing Stoneware Company along the top of the circle then the Red Wing symbol in the middle and Red Wing, MN along the bottom of the circle. The pitcher is in great shape. I couldn’t find any chips or cracks on it. The glaze is nice and shiny (sorry if that isn’t technical enough).Any help you may be able to give identifying this piece would be much appreciated. Thanks, Mike
