Question:
I was given a redwing plate. I believe it is a Kermis pattern. The plate is approx. 8" (square-ish)and has a court jester in black and light blue with tan pattern that circles the court jester. I was told this is a rare plate and may be valuable. There are no chips. What is the value of a piece like this? Dan

Answer: Kermis was a party set made from 1955 to 1956. Because it was made for only 2 years it is quite scarce today but it is not rare. Plates were made in four different designs, each with the jester in a different pose. A Kermis plate in excellent condition (no chips, cracks, hairlines or stains) would be worth $50 to $75.
