Question:
Let me start by saying that I know next to nothing about pottery. I found a pitcher at a thrift shop and thought that it was of good quality so I bought it. It is about 10-11" tall and is blue and white with some sort of flower decoration on the side. The top rim is also blue. There is a fading makers mark on the bottom that is round and blue. It says Red Wing Stoneware Company along the top of the circle then the Red Wing symbol in the middle and Red Wing, MN along the bottom of the circle.  The pitcher is in great shape. I couldn’t find any chips or cracks on it. The glaze is nice and shiny (sorry if that isn’t technical enough).Any help you may be able to give identifying this piece would be much appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Answer: Mike your stoneware pitcher is from the new Red Wing Stoneware company. We don’t know if there is a collectors market for this new pottery. Still a nice piece! Stacy Wegner, executive director
