Question:
2 gallon elephant ear
Question:
I was wondering if you could tell me what the attached piece is worth. It appears to me to be a transitional elephant eared crock. The bottom is marked Minnesota Stoneware Co. Also the description on the crock saiys the ink is not blue or black, but a real dark green (which you can’t really tell from the picture.) Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Red Wing Vase 667
Question:
I have a vase with the following marks on the botton: "Red Wing" "USA" "667". It is approx 11" tall, appears to be an art deco design, and the color is purple, grape, berry or something in that color family. I do not have a picture to include, but when you look at it from the front it is somewhat reminiscent of a woman’e corset, in that it has a ‘waist’ located in the lower third of the vase. The vase has vertical indentations – (which remind me of the boning used in corsets) – which rise from the base & continue up [widening as they reach the top]. These same indentations appear on both the front and back of the vase. It is not round, square or triangular in its shape. That narrow ‘waist’ is 3 and a half inches up from the 4" wide base & then above this waist the vase flares out & upward to the brim where it measures approx 6" wide. More than that I can’t offer, but would be delighted if you can give me some info on this. With many thanks for your time and effort.
Answer: Thanks for the very descriptive description!!! This vase belongs to the "doric" line, circa 1960. The glaze would be amethyst. Value is around 55.00. thanks, steve n rose

It has a lid, however, it is not the original. Thanks

Red Wing #446
Question:
I have a 12 1/2" diameter piece of Red Wing that I have not been able to identify. The 5 sections are approx 1 1/4" deep, total height approx 1 1/2". The center section is round. It is charcoal to black color. The glaze is a somewhat dull finish. It is marked on bottom with indented print. Red Wing….(second line) USA…and under that 446. It does have the 3 kiln marks. I would say it is in excellent condition. No grazing, chips, cracks etc. Any information on this piece would be appreciated.
Answer: Hi, this is listed as an art pottery item, all tho it really is a nut or chip & dip dish. It dates from circa 1964. The glaze is Black, no creativity in the name this time. Value is around 25.00. thanks, steve n rose
Mini Jugs
Question:
have started collecting "mini" jugs. I have in the past collected stoneware jugs and have around 150 on hand. Now I am going after the mini ones. When I speak of mini I mean 1 1/2 In. and down. I have some less than a 1/4 In. in height. I have about 125 of the unglazed ones from the Akron (sp) Ohio marble and toy co. that burned down around 1908. I have 50 or 60 under 1In. that have different glazes on them. There is very little info I can find on these jugs. The best I can tell is the most of them had a paper label on them and were used as political ads. Some were used as watch fobs. If I am wrong or if you have ANY info on these "micro mini" jugs please let me know. Or paste me a link to the info. thank you for your time. I know a fair amount about Indian artifacts and have a good collection of items. But I need to learn about the "Micro Mini Jugs"
