Question:
I was wondering if you could tell me what the attached piece is worth. It appears to me to be a transitional elephant eared crock. The bottom is marked Minnesota Stoneware Co. Also the description on the crock saiys the ink is not blue or black, but a real dark green (which you can’t really tell from the picture.) Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Answer: You have a 2 gallon Minnesota Stoneware Elephant Ear crock. It is not a transition do to no hand drawn numbers or Albany slip interior. If the stencilling on the crock looks green, then the true color is a light black. The Minnesota Stoneware Company only used blue and black for their stencilling. Looking at your crock, I would place a value in the range of $80 to $125. This is do to some glaze slips and light stencilling. Still a nice piece. Al Kohlman
