Question:
I bought this unmarked stoneware crock at an estate sale, along with several pieces of marked Red Wing items. In trying to research this piece, I read that most of the early salt-glazed Red Wing crocks weren’t marked. With the obvious exception of design and size, my crock looks very similar in color and style to the 3 gallon crock on page 19 of Warman’s Red Wing Pottery Identification and Price Guide published in 2005. Would you please tell me if you think this is in fact Red Wing?

Question:
I have an original Red Wing 20 gallon crock, my grandma made pickles in it, and it sat in our cave forever. It has blue 20 and red red wing underneath, and the red wing Mani info. underneath. It also has a lid. It has no handles. Just a few chips on the bottom, and a few under the lid. I would love to keep it forever, but was just wondering how much it may be worth.

Yellow Cat Ash Reciever/Bud Vase
Question:
I have a "yellow" cat that is about 6′ tall w/ his mouth wide open. The bottom is marked 878 REDWING. This is 1 of about 6 that I have. This is the only that appears to be marked though. They are all odd colors. Can you tell me anything about them.
Answer: They were designed in 1939, six figures. scotty dog, cat, pelican, fish, elephant and donkey. they are actually bud vases, not ash receivers. thought most of them were marked, but some may not be. Values run around $175.00 each. thanks, steve n rose

Question:
when it comes to ash receivers, did red wing sign all of the receivers produced? do unsigned receivers have the same value as signed ones? thanks for your time – appreciate the same.
Answer: They are all very recognizable shapes, not being signed won’t hurt their value. thanks, steve n rose
