Brushed ware garden items

Question:
Hello , I an inquiring in Brushed Ware garden items. I am an antiques dealer in Northern Illinois. I buy and sell alot of architectural and garden items. Is there a nitch in the stoneware collectors world for the garden items that Red Wing, Western, and RRPCo made? Some of these items are marked but most are not. It has been difficult to identify the makers as little information is available on companies garden line. Thanks for any and all help.

Answer: Hello

Lots of people collect this type of gardenware or brushed ware. Birdbaths are very popular. Yes, red wing, rrp, and western all did very similiar items, and it is hard to tell without any marks. These don’t appear to be Red Wing forms, the big pots may be, there is a shape #123, in a 10" size that looks real close. Still nice items, they should sell very well, especially if they are marked. thanks, steve n rose
