Question:
I found this jug in the river fifty odd years ago, weould like to know what it is for and when it was made. It says "Redwing Minnesota Stoneware Co." As you can see it is a dark brown color, large mouth and no numbers on it anywhere that I can see. Thank you in advance…Pat Sheil

 

Answer: Pat, you have a Minnesota Stoneware Tomato/Fruit jug. These jugs were used for canning and were made between 1895 and early 1900′s. Value in mint condition is around $75. They came in 1/2 & 1 gallon sizes. Al Kohlman
