5, gallon beehive stoneware jug

Question:
This is for Al Kohlmann, Hi Al, I have this 5, gallon beehive stoneware jug and I have two questions to ask. Is this a Red Wing stoneware piece? The numbering design on it is similar to Red Wing stoneware. My other question is would you have any idea of what it would be worth? It has a small chip on the mouth of the jug. Thanks so much, Dennis

15 gallon 10 gallon crocks and Ko-Rec Feeders

Question:
I have two Red Wing stoneware jars. One has the number 15 on it and the other has the number ten. Both had a red wing stenciled on them. The 15 also has a 1915 patent stencil and an oval stating Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing MN. They are not broken but one of the wire handles on the 15 is gone. Glaze is good. I have two KO-REC feeders. They are clean and the trays are not broken. One wire handle is missing. I could not upload a photo for some reason but I could send a photo, separately, to an e-mail address if I knew of one. THanks. Ken Greethurst, Urbandale, IA

question from: robertkaye@charter.net

Question:
Hello, I have a 5 1/2" tall birch leaves design bottle. Would like to know what this actually is, age, estimated value. This does not have the lid, but otherwise in excellent condition, no cracks, scratches or chips. Was wondering if a replacement lid would be available if possible. The mark states on the side as does it on the bottom : Red Wing Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minn. Thank you for anything you might be able to fill me in on.

Red WIng 1102 or 1109 stamped

Question:
I have a beautiful Red Wing vase. Green outside, pink inside with leaves starting on the sides and kind of wrapping around – both sides. I have never seen another like it, either on Ebay or otherwise. It is stamped 1102 or 1109, cannot tell for sure. Think it is a 2 though. It is in pristine condition, no chips, no cracks, no flaws. Is this vase valuable? Thank you so much. Deb

Answer: Hi Deb

I think you have the 1102, from around 1941. Not terribly rare, but it is easily chipped. Value is around 45.00. thanks, steve n rose

Is there anything I can do to try to remove the stain? Thanks Jean

“Chef Pierre” Salt and Pepper Shakers

Question:
Hi, I see lots of information about the Red Wing Chef Pierre Cookie Jar, but nothing on the Salt and Pepper shakers. I have a set that is the red (pink), that is just like the cookie jar. They are about 5" tall with the S & P on the belly and marked U.S.A. on the back of his hat or head, no marking on the bottom. I would think that they were made about the same time as the cooking jars so most interested in the value. No chips cracks or stains, no stoppers. Sorry no photo. Thanks for any help Sam W.

Red Wing Stoneware Company 4 gallon churn , small wing

Question:
Dear Mr. Kohlmann, I’ve tried to research this churn but it seems to have a little bit of everything and not enough of anything for me to put a value to it :) The churn is approximately 15 1/2" tall and the mouth is approximately 9" wide from outside edge to outside edge. Between the fancy blue 4 at the top and the blue oval seal at the bottom there is a very faint and blurry pinkish Red Wing logo. The oval seal is laid out as follows: Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. ——— Red Wing, Minn. There is a patent in blue to the right of the fancy 4 laid out as follows: Patented (in large letters) Dec. 21st, 1915 (in smaller letters) There is a dark blue smearing into dark red smearing into dark blue again glaze streak under the right handle as you look at it. There is a crack starting to just below and to the left of the fancy 4 and down to just above and to the left of the oval seal that appears to go through to the interior. There is also a small chip at the bottom where the side meets the bottom that appears to have happened when it was made because the beige glaze covers the chip. Thank you for any information that you may give me regarding this churn. I have grown very fond of this piece and hope to have some kind of value placed on it to entice my niece and her sons to keep it when I pass it on :) Ann C. Heighten Louisville, Kentucky
