Question:
Can you tell me what it is and what the value might be? I can’t seem to tell if it’s a 5 or a 6 on it. Also, what the value would be without the damage? There is the one chip on the botttom that you can see in the photo and a secondone on the side that is similar in size. There is also the stain to the left of the stamp. Is there anything I can do to try to remove the stain? Thanks Jean

 

Answer: Jean, you have a Minnesota Stoneware Company 5 gallon double rib cage salt glazed crock. Value is between $150 & $200 if it cleans up well. Getting the stain removed is a tough and long process, It would need to be soaked in a liquid peroxide and then baked. It is a long process with the correct strength of peroxide, soaking times, oven temps and baking time periods. The process is way to detailed for me to begin to type it all out.. Sorry Al Kohlman
