Question:
This jug was my mother’s and is in very good condition. It has only one chip – on the inside of the top. It is beige with a hen on the front. The base (which I guess is to hold a candle?) has little chicks around it. The chicks and hen are brown with light blue accents. It is about 16 inches tall, with all 3 pieces, as shown in the attached picture. Helen

Greenwichstone Casserole
Question:
I have a Red Wing handled cooking pot with lid that I know nothing about. It is in great shape and the opening is about 6 1/2" in diameter and stands approx. 3 1/2" in height. No cracks, breaks or chips. Few flaws around the inner rim. In some light it looks to be a greenish color and in some a dark grey. I am looking for the age, proper name of stoneware, color and possibly a value. Actually, any info appreciated. Thanks in advance! Karen

Pierre the Chef, pink with blue trim
Question:
My mother was raised in Red Wing, MN and I have one piece from her that has been in the family since the 1950′s. It is a cookie jar, shaped as a old Italian chef. He is pink in color with navy blue shoes, chef hat and tie around his neck. We’re having a garage sale and would like to know if it’s worth hanging on to or having it appraised. It looks like a glazed ceramic piece. I looked for numbers but can’t find any. The only marking says: Red Wing USA Thanks, Michelle

Cylinder Dinnerware Line: Pepe, Desert Sun, and Turtle Dove
Question:
Hello Larry, First, just wanted to thank you for this excellent service, it’s been a real help as I have begun to collect Red Wing pottery. I’m a big fan of the Cylinder dinnerware line, and have collected a fair amount of Pompeii and Pepe, many of which I use and enjoy daily. I also have a couple pieces of Desert Sun, and I was curious if you know why the plates of Desert Sun have a different shape than those of the rest of cylinder. They have more of a raised, extended border, whereas the rest of the series seem to just come to a raised edge. Also, speaking of cylinder, it seems that Turtle Dove is a less-collected pattern perhaps. What would be a value estimate for a turtle dove beverage server? Thanks! Zack

One day a friend noticed it up on my plant t in my kitchen and said she recently saw it online. Is this a special addition or a valuable piece? Its valuable to me is it reminds me of the smell of warm cookies baking in my Nanny’s kitchen! ;) Cindy
