Thank you Steve and Rose

Question:
No question. Just wanted to say thanks to Steve n Rose for answering my question. I am the one who inquired about a B2009. I opened the website and saw my question front and center, felt like I was on T.V. or something. I wish that I had a picture of the vase but I am not that computer savvy yet. I also wish that I had checked the spelling. Thanks again. If I ever get tired of the vase I’ll send it to Nebraska for your museum. It’s a very nice piece of pottery.

you are most welcome! steve n rose

6 Gallon salt glaze target crock

Question:
This a picture of the other crock. Do you think it was made in the same time period? It has a small crack on the side behind the ear running from top to bottom. There is still the wire I found it with wrapped around the neck to stop it from further damage I would guess. what would be it’s appoximate worth? thank you, Diane

20 Gallon Salt Glaze birch leaves

Question:
Hello Al, 31 years ago when the old house I was raised in was being bulldozed down I saw there was a root cellar that we had not known about beneath it. I found 2 salt glazed crocks. Here is a picture of the 20 birch leaf. A few years ago a collector of these said it was made in the late 1890′s by Red Wing. Do you think it is? There are no other stamps on it, it has no cracks, but it does have a large chip on the ear and 3 small ones on the rear base ( though all seem to have been there before the glazing as they are covered with the same glaze). Did they produce ‘seconds’ for a cheaper price? I’m going to attempt it’s sale and would like your opinion of it’s approximate worth. Thank you for any help, Diane.

Red Wing Ashtray

Question:
I have this dish I’m not sure what it is, maybe a advertising piece for in a store. The dish measures 6" by 2 1/2". I have no idea of it’s age or value. Can you help me? Thanks, Doug

Answer: Hi Doug, I think it is an ashtray, but the advertising makes it kind of special. There are some of these around, but it still has a value of around 250.00 or so. It is most likely from the 30′s, with the orange glaze. thanks, steve n rose

I have the opportunity to purchase 3 jugs and was wondering what values you would place on them – they are all in MINT condition. One is a 5 gallon beehive birch leaf in black, one is a 3 gallon beehive birch leaf in black, and the last one is a 3 gallon birch leaf shoulder jug in blue. The markings on all of these are dark and complete. Help! I value your opinion!
