Question:
I found a two handled pot with a brown glaze finish marked red wing usa on the bottom no numbers or other markings. it is darker glaze inside it apears to have been on a potters wheel it has that thrown look . 5 1/2 inches tall or larger the mouth opens at 6 inches and curves out slightly . It was wrapped in a newspaper from early 1960s. it is in perfect condition and never used. how much is it worth ? and will you buy it ?
Answer: Your bean pot will not have a high value. What collectors look for in bean pots are advertising which is on the bean pots which have an Albany slip top half and a zinc glazed bottom half. Also, you do not mention a lid as all of the Red Wing bean pots had them. Therefore without a lid and no advertising, your bean pot would have a value in the area of $15 to $20. Sorry, without advertising, I would have no interest in purchasing your bean pot. Good luck with sellin it and you may want to try EBay. Al Kohlman
