I recently purchased a crock at an auction and would like to know more about it and its value. I believe it is a beater jar or a butter drum. I believe it is one gallon. M 1572 Dish
Question:
I am curious about a piece of Red Wing pottery that I have. I believe it is a sauce boat? Length overall from lip to handle-10 inches, width-7 inches, height-5 inches to top of handle. Bottom is stamped, RED WING USA, M1572. Any idea of age, history, value?
Answer:
This is a piece of art pottery designed by Charles Murphy, circa 1957. It is not part of any particular line. This example is in a matte white glaze. It has a value of around $25.00 in perfect condition. thanks, steve n rose

Is this a Red Wing pottery piece? And if it is what is the approximate value? It is 8 1/2 inches tall. No chips or cracks. Detailed Indian side portrait. Detailed handle with bumps down the handle with an Indian head at the top of the handle. No markings on base. The opposite side has detailed teepees and trees.

Red Wing Lamp

Hello To All, I have is lamp.. with an awesome glaze. At first I thought it was Stangl with a Rust glaze. Another collector was visiting and we were doing show and tell with mystery pots and out came this lamp. He said right off.. Red Wing.. and the glaze is super rare.. thus may question.. Can you clear up the mystery? Is this a Redwing lamp.. The lamp shape is indeed in the Ray Reiss book on page 94 lower left.. with number 24B.. this lamp itself is numbered 1094. I can not find any examples of this glaze on any item in the Riess book.. Thank You in Advance
Answer: Hi, It is a lamp made by Red Wing. For some reason, lamp shape numbers are a bit odd. It’s not a real rare glaze, it’s listed in a 1938 catalog as Red Wing- orange and bay. Collectors call it scarlet and bay. Lamps are a harder sell, even in a nice shape such as this. On page 190 of his first book there are a couple of examples. hope this helps, thanks, steve n rose

20 Gallon 4 Birch Leaves & 10 gallon 6″ wing
Question:
I have 2 Red Wing crocks. First the 20 gallon. It has a 20 3 1/2 in.high. Under that are 4 leaves hanging down. Across they measure 8 1/2 from the tip of the right to the tip of the left one. Under that is the Red Wing logo. It reads Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing-Minn. The interior has no crazing. Exterior has 1 chip on the bottom edge. On to the 10 gal. crock. There is a 10 on the side 2 3/4 in. high. Under that is a Red Wing measuring 5 3/4 in. tip to tip. Under that is the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing,Minn. This one is excellent. It has no crazing or chips. Thank You. Wilbur Euler
