Question:
I recently purchased a crock at an auction and would like to know more about it and its value. I believe it is a beater jar or a butter drum. I believe it is one gallon. It has a chip at the bottom of the crock. The bottom shows it was made by Minnesota Stoneware Co Red Wing. Thank you. Susan Pictures attached.

Answer: Susan, you have a Minnesota Stoneware Company 1 gallon crock which of course is bottom stamped. Minnesota Stoneware Company produced a large number of these crocks and therefore the value is low. Also collectors like decorated pieces more so than those not decorated. In mint condition, these 1 gallon crocks sell for around $30. With the chip the value would be around $15. Al Kohlman
