I was at an estate sale and purchased a Iris pitcher(large size). It looks like who ever had it painted it white as the paint is chipping and it is green under it. What colors did they come in? How would I beable to get the paint off without harming the original finish. I am assuming it is glazed under the paint. Thanks Joe

I have this wine crock, and it says its a five gallon measure at the bottom. It says " STEUBEN COUNTY WINE CO, TELEPHONE MAIN 1352 227-229 WEST MADISON ST CHICAGO, Ill " my grandfather gave me this before he died, he told me that he had been working in the tunnels in Chicago and that there were two of these and he took the one that wasn’t broke,he said that years ago that is how the stores deliverd there goods was through those tunnels, witch is cool to me. Could you tell me what this might be worth today,and the year it was made, and was Red Wing the maker of it?. I wish i had an old picture of the old workers in the under ground tunnels with some of these jars . hope you can help me out!. Thank You: Renee

I have been given a 6 gallon Red Wing watercooler crock. It has a lid and handles but no spigot. The lid has a W on it in blue. The crock itself has 6 with the Red Wing emblem and stamp. I don’t see any markings on the bottom or inside. It has a couple hairline cracks. Does it have any value?

Question:
These two miniature 2 3/4" high stoneware jugs look like souvenirs of the St. Louis expo in 1901 (although the expo. was in Buffalo, NY that year, and not held in St. Louis until 1904). The wording is hand applied glaze done after the firing of the jugs. The color of the wording matches exactly to the glaze of the jugs, and was no doubt done by someone at the company when the jugs were made. I am 99% sure they are Red Wing. They have the same shape, color of glaze, color of stoneware, and the "feel" of Red Wing when you pick them up. My questions are: have you seen anything like them made by Red Wing, would they be souvenir pieces created for the St. Louis 1901 expo, or were they linked somehow to St. Louis, Minnesota, which changed its name to St. Louis Park around 1901 (so as not to be confused with St. Louis, Missouri)? Also, what they would be worth. They are in extremely good condition with no cracks, chips, etc., except for the hand-applied glaze has worn off of one of the jugs. Thanks for any info! Vicki.

Question:
I was just given a bean pot from my grandmother and she claimed to it belonging to her mother. I fear it sounds common by reading your prior answers :) but she would like to know year made. It is a pot that is half white (bottom side) and brown with blue crown that has a 2 in the center. I see no usa markings or anything on the bottom. It does have small handle.
