Question:
this piece of pottery was given to me by an old family friend. I would love to know the history behind it and the value. Dont want to sell it but if it is of value i want to protect from my kids :) Any information that you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Answer: Your Red Wing 3 gallon butter churn was manufactured between 1912 & 1918. It looks like there may be a hairline just right of the number 3 that goes from the rim down about 5 inches. If this is a hairline, it will hurt it’s value. If the lid is mint with no chips or cracks, it will have a value between $100 & 125. Your churn with the hairline would have a value around $100. If not a hairline and the churn is mint, it would be valued between $200 & $250. Hope this helps. Al Kohlman
