3 gallon target salt glaze churn

Question:
This piece of pottery has been in my family for as long as I can remember. There are no legible markings on the bottom and the only design or writing is that of the blue marking. I do not recall a lid. It was given to my mother as a wedding present. Family lore states that it was made in France but I think it might have been made by one of our french ancestors but in the US. Would you know if it is Red Wing and if not, any suggestions on what it is and its value? Thank you, Pat
