Question:
Is my server a Redwing? it is 9 1/2" to top of lid and 6 1/2" diameter. It has a white glaze inside and has the number 565 pressed into the base. What vintage? Howard

Answer: Yes, this is a Red Wing coffee server from the Plain pattern, a pattern in the Gypsy Trail line. This pitcher was introduced in 1935 and was made until Gypsy Trail production ceased around the end of World War II. Other potteries made similar coffee servers but only Red Wing’s were marked 565 on the bottom. This coffee server was made in numerous colors but orange seems to be the most common. Value for an orange 565 server in excellent condition is around $25 to $35.
