Red Wing Vase, shape 1296, “Lunch Hour” with names: Elizabeth, Eva and Mary dated 1947

Question:
I have a Hand Painted Red Wing Vase. It has 2 birds on a branch. On reverse side is a sprig of flowers and uner the glaze are the names Elizabeth, Eva and Mary. On the bottom is the factory Stamp and the date Apr 1947. Any info would be appreciated. George

Answer: Hi George

It looks to be a version of shape #1296, which is from 1947. The standard shape was usually done in one solid glaze color, not handpainted like this one. I think you do have a true lunch hour item. These are pretty hard to come by. These can sell for hundreds of dollars. thanks for the pic, it’s a nice find. thanks, steve n rose
