Red Wing 768 pitcher, Belle Kogan 100 line
Question:
Hello! I just finished reading the article about the Red Wing Pottery Show that was in the June 24, 2009 publication of Antique Trader. What a wonderful WebSite!! I have a attached a pic of the ONLY piece of Red Wing I own. It is a handsome pitcher that I found in a thrift shop and bought for $.50. I collect lots of 50′s era ephemera and I bought it for it’s unique shape and color scheme. It is embossed "768" and "RED WING" on the underside. I would be enthralled to learn more about it!! Thanks very much!!! Lindsay Leiper, Norristown, PA
Answer: Hi Lindsay
Thanks for the compliments, we do have a well run organization, and quite large to boot! Your piece is more art pottery, than an actual dinnerware pitcher. It’s part of Belle Kogan’s 100 line, circa 1938. It is an interesting form. Value is around 75.00 or so. You made a good investment… thanks, steve n rose
