Red Wing 918

Question:
I have a little goose planter that is a light green color and marked redwing 918 on the bottom. It is probably 5-6 inches in length. It was in my mother’s basement for years and when she moved out, I took it with because I remember it being there since I was a child. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Answer: It’s probably 910, the 918 is much smaller, but still the same shape. It’s from around 1939, part of the animal novelties. It has a value of around 75.00. thanks, steve n rose

10 Gallon Salt Glaze Lazy 8

Question:
I recently purchased this item at an auction. It is a 10 gallon salt glazed crock. It has no cracks chips or defects except maybe the stain on the bottom. It has two rings around the top just above the 10. I believe the marking is a lazy 8 target is this right? I can’t pin point the value in the book I have. What is this piece worth and do the two grooves above the 10 mean anything.

Magnolia Line Box and Fancy Free Sugar Bowl

Question:
I recently picked up two pieces of Redwing pottery that I am unfamiliar with, and I hope that you can help me. The first piece is a 3.5" square covered box in maroon. The top of the box has (I think) a magnolia flower on it. This piece is marked "Redwing USA 1016" on the bottom. The second piece is a covered jar that measures 4.5" wide 3" deep and 2.5" high. It is slightly curved in the middle and the handle is somewhat like a figure eight. This piece is ivory with pink flowers and green leaves and yellow flowers on a black vine. The mark on the bottom is the "Redwing Handpainted" bird. Can you tell me what these pieces are?

Answer: The box is a 1018, from the magnolia line. Used to hold smokes. It’s from around 1940, with a value of 60.00 or so. the second piece is actually dinnerware! It’s a sugar bowl from 1952, part of the fancy free line. Value around 15.00. thanks, steve n rose

Stoneware signage

Question:
Hello, I recently came across a framed chart of Red Wing Stoneware. It is approx. 23 3/4" tall and 15" wide. Says "Red Wing Stoneware and stoneware specialties" on top and "Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minnesota" on bottom. It has well over 100 pieces of different stoneware items. Everything from a christmas tree stand, jardiniers, coffee urn liners, pitchers, water coolers, self draining jars, koverware, spitoons, ewers and basins, and many more. Some I did not even know were made by red wing. Under each piece it has a figure #, name, a little info, and the sizes available. It is framed and there is a sticker on the front that say’s circa, 1931. It is on yellowed heavy paper stock and I see no dates. Just wondering if this is real or a reproduction, and if it was for a store display or salesman piece. If it is original can you give me a approx. value. Thank you so much for your time. Love your website. Thanks Dale.

Bob White Set

Question:
I have inherited red wing dinnerware from my grandmother and am interested in finding out the value as well as assistance in selling the whole lot, which I know consists of the following (there are other pieces I do not know what to label). 13 coffee cups 19 saucers 7 salad plates 14 dinner plates 13 bread plates 7 cause bowls 7 salad/soup bowls 1 relish dish 2 appetizer dishes 1 oil and vinegar set w/iron holder 1 tea jug 1 tall salt and pepper shaker 1 bob white salt and pepper set 1 tea pot 1 cookie jar sugar and milk holders bob white appetizer holder yes, some of them have hairline cracks and some have chips, but for the most part the lot is in very good condition. It has been stored in a cubbard for as long as I can remember and likely never used. My wife loves the pieces, but is afraid they are too delicate to use and we lack the storage space for it all. Any help you can provide is much appreciated. I have more group photos, but not individual shots.
